The Ansonica Costa dell’Argentario wine is produced in the hilly and coastal areas of the Tuscan Maremma. The production areas affected are those of Manciano, Capalbio, Orbetello and the island of Giglio. The same vine is also grown on the Island of Elba and in some areas of Sardinia and Sicily, where it is called Inzolia.

THE WINE:

The grapes of the Ansonic variety grow in particularly sunny areas, with high temperatures and little rain. It is therefore clear that the Argentario and the Isola del Giglio are the favorite places for its cultivation and for the production of this extraordinary wine. Most of the grapes are produced on the Isola del Giglio, close to the coast, for this reason Ansonica wine has high salt contents, as well as a significant alcohol content.
